Mean Mommy

Do you ever just have one of those days that start out so perfect and then all hell breaks loose?

Maybe this was an omen? A seagull eating another seagull's wing.....

Today was one of those perfect San Diego days and we headed out to the beach to play in the sand and get some shells. We were having a great time running around, digging holes and chasing birds. That is, until Aaron decided he wanted to run away. He has always liked to walk on his own and we have never had a problem with him not listening, until today.

I had to drag poor Lauren down the beach with bucket of sand in tow chasing after that little boy. I would yell to him to stop and he would, until I started walking again. I finally caught him and dragged him up to the sidewalk, made him sit down and then we talked about listening. We then promptly left.

I have never had to make him leave somewhere before. I am sure there will be more scenes like this in the next few years. At least I didn't have to drag him to the car. But he cried and screamed the entire walk and ride home. Hopefully he will remember this the next time.

Thanks so much for pointing out that seagull was eating another's wing. I was quite happily assuming that it was a fish until then ha ha ha.

I haven't had to leave anywhere ... yet. I'm sure I'll be leaving lots of places soon enough, especially with these two hooligans.

Way to go, sticking to your guns like that.

Sorry for your day......you got some great pictures though....I think it is good to "stick to your guns ", I am sure you will use this day as a reminder and it will make an impression on him that "Mom means business"

Hang in there:)
