Another First Day
I have been in denial that this day was coming. Over the last six weeks, we have spent a lot of time prepping Aaron for kindergarten. He was having a really hard time with the transition from preschool to kindergarten. This was due to the fact that not one child from his preschool would be in the same kindergarten. But as we got closer, he said he was scared and excited.
Well, today was the day. Aaron and I walked up to school. He dragged his feet the whole walk. But we talked more about all the fun he was going to have. Then he was pretty excited when I showed him around his classroom. But then it was time to sit on the rug and parents to leave. He did not cry but just hung his head as low as it could go. He was much happier when I picked him up. He talked all about the project he worked on and how he cut things out and glued.
I did pretty well today. Last night at the orientation, I got teary-eyed several times just listening to the teachers talk about all the things our kids would be doing this year. It is hard to believe that Aaron is about to turn 5 and just had his first day of kindergarten. How time flies.

Sorry about the fuzzy picture, it was hard to find any room to take one. He even picked out his own clothes to wear. (Kristin- He still loves this shirt and he picks it out for all special occasions.)
On a side note, kindergarten now a days is nothing like it was for me. Aaron will be reading and writing sentences by the end of the school year. That is crazy!!

We're home
Just a quick note to say we made it home. The grand total was 6,662 miles. I have a lot to share, but it will have to wait until we are unpacked and I get some much deserved sleep.
But I will share a few things now.
First of all, did you know that a 2 1/2 year old can still whine in her sleep? Last night Lauren woke me up at 230 AM whining about getting an owie and "I want McDonald's Mommy!"
I keep trying to type something profound, but I guess it will have to wait until I get some sleep. I did end up with a flat tire in a hotel parking lot in Wyoming. The man who came to help me change it was an older gentleman who's butt crack was showing even when standing completely upright. So you can imagine what it looked like when he was working on my tire. As he changed my tire, I said a little prayer. Not about the tire or my car, but praying that my kids would remain quiet and not start pointing to the man's crack and asking me lots of question that I know I could not answer!
