Which one does not belong?

Have you every played that game where you have to pick the item in a picture that does not belong? Can you pick which one that might be in this picture? I will give you a hint, it's the one in the middle.

I have been saying for months how Lauren will be my first ER trip. She almost made it happen tonight. We had dinner at a friend's house. When she got in the car she picked something up and said pretty. I just figured it was one of her toys or dolls. We left the house and 1 minute down the road she said "Mommy, stuck." I said "what's stuck." Her reply "Sparkly in my nose." Oh crap.

I had to drive down the street a little ways before I could pull off. I jumped out of the car and ran to her door and sure enough, there is something stuck in her nose. There is no way I can reach it. My dilemma, drive home and try to get it out or go to the ER. I could see it, so I opted to go home.

We ran upstairs and got the tweezers out. Lauren was not to keen on having them in her nose, but with a little bribing, she agreed. Whatever was in her nose was stuck. I had to find something to nudge it free and then was able to grab it with the tweezers. Crisis averted.

It was a painted macaroni from Aaron's St. Patrick's Day craft.

Gross

The other night, Aaron wanted to move his little green side table into Lauren's room to make her a mini train table. I thought it was strange, but whatever. Then I went into her room and tried to open the top drawer. It would not budge. I asked Aaron what was in there and he said nothing. This is what I found when I finally got it out.

He filled up a sandwich bag with water and left it in there. So long green table.

Addiction

A year ago, when Lauren started throwing tantrums, we watched her discover a very simple thing that helped calm her down. All she needed was to get a tissue. Over the past month, tissues have been discovered all over the house. Instead of just taking one, she would come out of the bathroom with a handful. We would remind her to just take one. When she would go to bed at night, she would ask for 2 tissues, then 3, then 4. I am fed up with constantly buying tissues.

Tonight when she was in the tub, I tiptoed into her room and took out all the tissues. This is what I found.

There was a grand total of 26 tissues. I took them all except one and promptly put away all tissue boxes. She was not very happy at bed time when she discovered that her "stash" was gone. I told her only one tissue from now on. Hopefully, this will go smoothly. Who knew tissues were so addictive?

Butterflies and Birds

This week we headed up early to the Wild Animal Park to check out the butterfly exhibit. Because we got there early, there was no line and we got spend quite a bit of time in there. Good thing because Aaron was determined to get one to land on him. After about 45 mins, he succeeded. It was only on his arm for about 2 seconds, but enough to satisfy him.
Aaron was begging me to let him try feeding the lorikeets again. After his first terrifying experience with the one landing on his head you would think he would never want to go back. But he tried again a few months ago and one nibbled him. He was not happy. But he was determined to do it this time. He LOVED it. He even held the food and one sat on his hand and then his arm. He was so proud of himself and so was I.

After the birds, we checked out the playground. It was a huge hit. Too bad everybody was super grumpy when we left.
