Addiction

A year ago, when Lauren started throwing tantrums, we watched her discover a very simple thing that helped calm her down. All she needed was to get a tissue. Over the past month, tissues have been discovered all over the house. Instead of just taking one, she would come out of the bathroom with a handful. We would remind her to just take one. When she would go to bed at night, she would ask for 2 tissues, then 3, then 4. I am fed up with constantly buying tissues.

Tonight when she was in the tub, I tiptoed into her room and took out all the tissues. This is what I found.

There was a grand total of 26 tissues. I took them all except one and promptly put away all tissue boxes. She was not very happy at bed time when she discovered that her "stash" was gone. I told her only one tissue from now on. Hopefully, this will go smoothly. Who knew tissues were so addictive?
