Hockey Anyone?

I have never pretended to be a great cook. Kyle would disagree, but only because he wants to make sure we eat something besides Ramen. But when he is gone, I admit I do not cook much. But tonight, the fridge and freezer were looking exceptionally bare. But lo and behold, there was an entire box of frozen hamburgers in there.

For the record, I do know how to use the grill. I make hot dogs every once in a while when he is gone. So I thought I would make the burgers on there. BIG MISTAKE.

It is hard enough to cook anything with the kids running around, especially after 5 pm. But I got the charcoal going, Aaron was sitting doing play do and Lauren was happily playing on the floor. That lasted until I put the burgers on. Chaos ensued. You can see the end result. Even after cutting the outside off, I could not force Aaron to eat that. He had corn, cheese and yogurt for supper.

Moral of the story: Don't try to cook anything on the grill by yourself especially when:

  1. It is dark out.

  2. Play do is involved.

  3. The daredevil is loose on the floor.

  4. You are potty training.

Anybody need a hockey puck?
